Base Salary
$230k - $330k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build the detection and telemetry pipeline, including logging coverage, the detection stack, and its underlying data.
- Write high-signal detections for identity, access, the cloud control plane, and data exfiltration threats.
- Build and own incident-response playbooks, on-call operations, live response, and post-incident reviews.
- Partner with security and platform engineering to close telemetry gaps and instrument areas that are not yet visible.
- Establish detection-as-code and a metrics-driven approach to incident response.
- Build detections for AI-specific abuse, emerging threats, and novel attack patterns.
- Use AI to augment detection and response work while focusing on critical engineering tasks.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in detection and response, including building detection capabilities and setting direction.
- Strong AWS-native detection expertise, including CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC/flow logs, and the broader AWS ecosystem.
- An engineering-first mindset centered on detection-as-code.
- Ability to remain calm, structured, and decisive during live incidents.
- Interest in detecting emerging AI/ML abuse and threat patterns.
- Preferred experience includes working with consumer products at scale, serving as an early or founding detection hire, or exposure to AI/ML abuse and platform-abuse signals.
