Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage backend primitives for resources such as RetoolDB and RetoolAI.
- Blend product thinking with API and backend design for integrations and data resources.
- Debug customer problems and build features to improve integrations such as Google Sheets.
- Develop reusable platform capabilities for OAuth integrations, including PKCE.
- Support infrastructure handling 20 million requests per day across more than 70 data connections.
- Own technically challenging, cross-functional projects and communicate with customers to validate product needs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including startup experience.
- Experience owning technically challenging and demanding cross-functional projects.
- Experience across the full stack, including backend and frontend development.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Ability to make technical decisions quickly while involving relevant stakeholders.
- Customer-first mindset and willingness to speak with customers.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript is preferred.
- Experience building integration platforms or operating a large set of integrations is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-backed systems, including prompt orchestration, embeddings, or vector search, is preferred.
- Experience mentoring other team members is a bonus.
