Base Salary
$250k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture for agentic systems, including orchestration, tool use, memory, retrieval, evaluation, observability, and reliability guardrails.
- Build and harden the reasoning layer and infrastructure from customer-data ingestion through agent-driven reasoning and root-cause insight.
- Establish rigorous evaluation and testing using expert-validated ground truth and customer outcomes such as detection rates, investigation speed, and warranty cost.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership on the technical vision and roadmap for the agent platform.
- Raise engineering standards through code reviews, design documentation, and technical direction.
- Mentor engineers on agentic patterns and system design and help unblock complex technical problems.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience with recent hands-on work building agentic systems.
- Experience with LLM orchestration, tool or function calling, multi-step and multi-agent reasoning, retrieval, context engineering, and MCP or comparable interoperability protocols.
- Ability to design and own complex distributed systems, ideally in data-intensive B2B SaaS environments.
- Hands-on fluency with modern agentic systems and the failure modes, evaluation practices, and observability needs of non-deterministic LLM-driven systems.
- Experience transforming messy, heterogeneous real-world data into reliable inputs for model reasoning.
- Track record of technical mentorship without requiring formal authority.
- Ability to execute in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while balancing MVP delivery with production-grade engineering.
