Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex real-time UI features for conversational interfaces, including chat streaming, incremental rendering, and dynamic layouts.
- Build high-performance WebSocket pipelines handling streamed deltas, retries, and backpressure.
- Optimize scrolling and rendering performance using browser scheduling, virtualization, observers, and non-blocking state updates.
- Implement fault-tolerant UI behavior for reconnection, cancellation, offline recovery, and retries.
- Architect state-management and caching strategies that keep local UI state consistent with backend deltas.
- Deliver accessible, responsive, pixel-perfect interfaces across themes and viewport sizes with design partners.
- Improve frontend developer experience through build pipelines, test automation, linting, and formatting standards.
- Instrument client-side telemetry and performance metrics for rendering, streaming, and interaction speed.
- Collaborate with backend and AI/ML teams on message formats, token-streaming APIs, and session resiliency.
- Mentor teammates through design reviews and pair programming and contribute shared components, libraries, and cross-product standards.
- Shape the technical direction of the AI Platform frontend.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of professional frontend development experience in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript with deep understanding of asynchronous browser behavior.
- Experience with Svelte, React, or another component-based modern UI framework.
- Strong debugging and performance profiling skills.
- Experience integrating real-time or streaming data into user interfaces.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered interfaces, progressive streaming UIs, or data-rich visualization frameworks is a bonus.
