Staff Software Engineer

$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain resilient real-time data pipelines for low-latency, high-throughput financial market data processing.
- Process data across equities, options, futures, and other financial instruments with accuracy and timeliness.
- Integrate market data feeds from exchanges and other sources into Clear Street systems.
- Collaborate with product, trading, risk, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and data discrepancies while ensuring data integrity across pipelines.
- Monitor pipeline performance and health and mitigate potential issues before they affect system performance.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience implementing low-latency, high-throughput data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and real-time pipeline challenges, including data consistency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
- Familiarity with financial market data, security prices, and asset classes such as equities, options, and futures.
- Strong familiarity with Linux/BSD and TCP/IP and UDP networking, including unicast and multicast.
- Preferred experience with eBPF system profiling, columnar storage and database systems, DPDK or XDP kernel-bypass networking, BGP, VPCs, network peering, and Aeron.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with other engineers and cross-functional teams.
