Base Salary
$220k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Ship code daily, with hands-on development comprising the strong majority of the role.
- Own architecture and the technical roadmap for a core domain and solve its hardest problems.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and serve as the technical escalation point for difficult challenges.
- Provide thought leadership in enterprise AI and push the frontier of what is possible.
- Represent Coworker through talks, blog posts, or open-source contributions.
- Guide early technical architecture decisions and establish the engineering culture.
- Help the product team develop its vision, strategy, and roadmap while proposing innovative solutions and understanding technical limitations.
- Drive cross-organizational technical initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Lead incident response and post-mortems for company-critical issues and ensure systemic learning from failures.
- Hire and interview candidates for senior and higher-level engineering roles and raise the engineering talent bar.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree, preferably in Computer Science.
- 10+ years of professional development experience.
- Experience owning new products from zero to one, including system design, implementation, and deployment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience using AI aggressively to improve development velocity through looping and reinforcement.
- Any programming language is acceptable; the primary languages are GoLang, TypeScript, and Python.
- Deep expertise in at least two of distributed systems, data pipelines, AI/ML infrastructure, security, or frontend architecture at scale.
- Ability to lead without direct authority and influence technical direction across team boundaries.
- Experience defining SLAs and SLOs and running production systems at scale with strong operational discipline.
