Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend services for connected medical devices, Software as a Medical Device, and digital health solutions.
- Build distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven applications, and cloud platform services.
- Develop secure backend applications using Java, Python, and modern software engineering practices.
- Design and implement AWS cloud solutions using services including ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, and Cognito.
- Support backend platform development from product concept through development, validation, deployment, and post-market support.
- Implement secure APIs, authentication, authorization, encryption, audit logging, and data protection mechanisms for healthcare products.
- Support software verification and validation activities aligned with regulated medical-device practices, FDA expectations, and applicable standards.
- Build and maintain automated testing, deployment, and infrastructure-as-code processes.
- Support reliability, performance, monitoring, and operational readiness of cloud production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, cloud engineering, or related technical roles.
- Strong hands-on backend development experience with Java, preferably Spring Boot, and Python; Node.js experience is a plus.
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS, including services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, and Cognito.
- Experience building distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven applications, and containerized applications.
- Knowledge of software architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and modern software development practices.
- Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure software development.
- Experience working in regulated environments and structured quality processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Healthcare, connected medical-device, digital health, SaMD, FDA-regulated product, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, HL7, FHIR, Epic, OWASP, OIDC, SAML 2.0, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 experience is desirable.
