Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for native Android applications.
- Build automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Develop Android tests using Espresso, UI Automator, Appium, or similar frameworks.
- Integrate Android automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar platforms.
- Run automated tests across Android emulators and physical devices.
- Partner with Android engineers to improve application testability and automation coverage.
- Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and improve automation stability.
- Validate application behavior across Android versions, device types, and configurations.
- Contribute to mobile automation architecture, tooling standards, and testing practices.
- Identify automation coverage gaps and prioritize high-value scenarios.
- Evaluate new Android automation tools and technologies.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software testing, SDET, or test automation roles, including significant Android automation experience.
- Hands-on experience with Android automation frameworks such as Espresso, UI Automator, and Appium.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks.
- Experience with Android Studio, Gradle, Android build workflows, and CI/CD test integration.
- Experience testing native Android applications across emulators and physical devices.
- Understanding of the Android application lifecycle, permissions, background processes, and platform-specific behavior.
- Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted tools effectively.
- Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, due to involvement in FedRAMP environments.
- Preferred: experience with Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Jetpack Compose testing, accessibility, performance or network-condition testing, authentication and security-sensitive mobile workflows, cybersecurity or identity applications, Google Play release workflows, API testing, or backend-dependent mobile workflows.
