Responsibilities
- Set the developer advocacy strategy, including target developers, use cases, communities, and outreach methods.
- Build relationships with accelerators, investors, and developer platforms to engage teams early and promote Shopify.
- Run developer events including meetups, hackathons, workshops, and office hours.
- Pair with founders and engineers to integrate Shopify, resolve technical blockers, and ship products to production.
- Create reusable code, tools, and documentation while channeling developer feedback to Product and Engineering.
- Track engagement and adoption, test advocacy approaches, scale successful programs, and recommend skills and hires.
Requirements
- Experience building a developer advocacy, developer relations, or technical ecosystem program end to end.
- Hands-on engineering or solutions experience, including shipping software, integrating APIs, implementing authentication, and debugging production issues.
- Experience building with AI development tools and learning unfamiliar codebases quickly.
- Credibility with developers and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Experience running developer events, building communities, and publishing useful technical content.
- Ability to represent a platform effectively in person and online, with strong follow-through.
- Based in San Francisco and able to work with developers in person.
