Base Salary
$94k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with good test coverage.
- Translate product requirements into robust designs for modular, reusable, scalable, secure, compliant, and maintainable distributed applications.
- Lead design and code reviews across multiple applications.
- Lead sprint teams in delivering new or improved features and address impediments in the sprint backlog.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver intended functionality.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Drive technical strategy and vision for the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of software programming experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with technologies used at Mercury.
- More than 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Proficiency in one or more industry-standard programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, relational databases, NoSQL, caching, APIs, message queuing, data streaming, workflow, integration frameworks, containers, and distributed application systems.
- Experience with REST and gRPC APIs, microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, influencing, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, RPA experience, AI experience including prompt tuning and model evaluations, insurance-domain experience, and experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
