Responsibilities
- Own the test strategy and automation architecture across functional, end-to-end, BDD, performance, and data validation layers.
- Build and maintain Python-based test frameworks, fixtures, reporting, and BDD feature suites aligned with biopharma business requirements.
- Create, execute, and maintain automated UI and API test cases using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Postman, and Python requests.
- Design and govern JMeter performance test plans, analyze results, and drive remediation with development teams.
- Design data validation pipelines and complex SQL queries for reconciliation and business-function validation across databases.
- Surface quality risks, identify test coverage gaps, communicate scope concerns, and maintain team-level quality commitments.
- Produce test strategy documents, defect trend analyses, quality reports, and clear quality-status communications.
- Incorporate client needs and regulatory requirements into test coverage and participate in incident responses and quality reviews.
- Diagnose complex test failures, anticipate system failure modes, and make rigorous quality trade-off decisions.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, share knowledge, unblock teammates, and champion quality best practices.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-powered testing tools and work with AI agents throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with backend developers, UI/UX developers, product analysts, and domain stakeholders in a distributed team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of senior-level professional QA engineering experience with a strong automation focus.
- At least 3 years of test automation experience spanning UI and API testing.
- Expert Python testing skills, including pytest, test framework design, fixtures, and reporting.
- Strong hands-on production experience with Playwright and experience with Selenium WebDriver version 3 or later.
- Deep BDD expertise, including framework design, Gherkin authoring, step-library architecture, and living documentation.
- Strong SQL expertise involving complex joins, aggregations, window functions, data validation, and reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Amazon RDS.
- Experience designing test plans, test cases, and test data for both automated and manual testing.
- JMeter experience with test-plan design, distributed execution, and results analysis is preferred.
- Experience in AI-augmented or agentic development and testing environments such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or AWS Bedrock.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with sprint planning and iterative delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, ownership, communication, mentoring, and technical-influence skills.
