Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend applications and microservices.
- Build Angular applications and integrate backend services.
- Implement clean, tested, performant, and reliable code.
- Design event-driven, asynchronous, message-driven, and distributed systems.
- Design and maintain efficient relational database integrations and optimized SQL queries.
- Containerize and deploy applications while integrating CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards initiatives.
- Use AI coding companions and intelligent development tools responsibly to improve productivity and code quality.
- Mentor junior developers and promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience using Java 8 or above.
- Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and the Spring framework ecosystem.
- Strong proficiency with Angular 19.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful microservices.
- Proficiency writing optimized SQL queries and working with databases.
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, message-driven systems, and distributed systems.
- Good understanding of Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
- Experience with Git and Agile development practices.
- Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes.
- Ability to structure effective prompts, critically validate AI outputs, understand limitations, and take responsibility for final results.
- Strong English communication skills; German is a plus.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure is nice to have.
- Familiarity with Java performance tuning and monitoring, backend security practices, Node.js, kf-theme, or Material UI is nice to have.
