Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure, APIs, and services at scale.
- Architect and implement distributed systems supporting high-volume, low-latency APIs.
- Solve scalability, latency, and performance challenges in live production systems.
- Lead system design discussions and shape backend architecture.
- Establish backend development best practices for throughput, reliability, and latency.
- Validate performance through automated testing, benchmarking, and production improvements.
- Trace production issues across services and ship durable reliability fixes.
- Own services throughout their lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend components.
- Experience solving complex design, scalability, latency, or performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency production systems.
- Production experience with Java and Rust.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
- Experience building highly available and scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to work across the stack and address infrastructure and platform challenges.
- Experience with managed Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS is a plus.
- Web3 experience, startup experience, founding a company, or building side projects is a plus.
