Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production-grade Kubernetes Operators for PhysicsX workloads.
- Own the runtime architecture across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
- Drive the adoption of service mesh capabilities using Istio.
- Design and implement virtual cluster strategies for workload isolation.
- Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to maintain runtime interfaces.
- Establish reliability practices for runtime components, including SLOs and incident playbooks.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and technical direction.
- Evaluate and integrate upstream Kubernetes ecosystem tooling.
Requirements
- Experience designing, building, and operating production Kubernetes Operators.
- 3+ years of professional Golang development experience.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes API machinery and custom resource definitions.
- Hands-on experience with Istio in a production environment.
- Experience with vCluster or equivalent tooling for workload isolation.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems design and troubleshooting.
- Experience operating Kubernetes across multiple cloud providers and on-premises.
- Comfortable writing production code regularly.
- Platform engineering mindset focused on developer experience and maintainability.
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure tools like Kubeflow or Kedro.
