Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java, Node.js, and NestJS.
- Build scalable systems using Kafka and other event-streaming technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new platform features.
- Refactor existing codebases to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop RESTful APIs using established design patterns and best practices.
- Design database schemas and write efficient queries for application data.
- Deploy, monitor, and scale applications using cloud technologies.
- Debug complex issues and contribute to continuous software improvement.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in computer science and 2+ years of backend software engineering experience focused on Java and Node.js, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science and 4+ years of experience.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB, including query writing, schema design, and data security.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
- Familiarity with SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Kafka or other messaging systems, AWS and GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, cloud application deployment, and microservices architectures.
- Open-source contributions are a plus.
