Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software installation and deployment solutions across Windows, Linux, and containerized environments.
- Use Windows Installer, InstallShield, C#, C++, PowerShell, and Bash to develop installation tools, automation, and scripts.
- Participate in requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Develop automated tests and validation processes to improve installation quality and prevent regressions.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, scripting, debugging, testing, code review, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation, while validating generated solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, architects, and cross-functional teams on installation and deployment requirements and strategies.
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support installation and configuration requirements involving SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Troubleshoot complex installation and deployment issues through root-cause analysis and sustainable fixes.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and Agile development practices.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of professional software development experience in software installation, deployment, build, or related technologies.
- Strong proficiency in C# and/or C++, with experience using PowerShell and Bash for scripting and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux software installation, configuration, upgrade, and deployment concepts.
- Experience with Windows Installer, InstallShield, or comparable installation and packaging technologies.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, design patterns, software lifecycle practices, and maintainable development.
- Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and critically validating AI-generated code and recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, software deployment practices, and Git or Perforce.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies and their installation and configuration requirements.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
