Base Salary
$235k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and improve orchestration, monitoring, and data reliability systems
- Define modeling, semantic layer, and governance standards across teams
- Optimize warehouse performance and reduce compute spend
- Implement secure access controls and strengthen compliance practices
- Partner with Engineering to improve upstream data quality and data contracts
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to modernize and future-proof the data platform
- Mentor engineers and guide architectural decisions
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Backend Software Engineering
- Staff-level scope with cross-team technical influence
- Expert SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python or similar languages
- Deep experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar data warehouses
- Hands-on experience with dbt and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster
- Experience improving pipeline reliability, observability, and system performance
- Proven ownership of warehouse cost optimization
- Experience implementing secure data access patterns and working in regulated environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
