Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and delivery of features across backend services and web applications.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and webhooks with reliability, security, and clear documentation.
- Lead enterprise integrations from technical scoping through go-live with internal teams and customer engineering teams.
- Use data and customer feedback to improve the Burq Dashboard for delivery operators.
- Own production quality through monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and prevention.
- Contribute through code reviews, technical design, mentoring, and improvements to engineering, security, and design practices.
- Use AI tools daily for development, testing, and debugging.
Requirements
- Require 4+ years of professional software engineering experience and a record of shipping and owning production systems.
- Require strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript backend experience.
- Require experience building web applications with React or a similar modern framework.
- Require experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices.
- Require familiarity with SQL, NoSQL databases, and AWS.
- Require experience integrating third-party systems and APIs, including webhooks, authentication, and failure handling.
- Require effective ownership, communication, and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers.
- Require active daily use of AI tools such as Claude and Unblocked.
- Prefer experience with delivery, logistics, or marketplace platforms.
- Prefer experience with workflow orchestration such as Temporal or event-driven systems such as Kafka.
- Prefer experience with enterprise integrations and security requirements including SSO, IP allowlisting, and audit logging.
