Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a small team of developers.
  • Own technical direction and architecture decisions for custom software applications.
  • Gather project requirements and enhancements from business and user needs.
  • Develop and maintain custom .NET and C# applications for civil design software.
  • Enhance existing software systems and improve functionality and user experience.
  • Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards for quality and maintainability.
  • Evaluate bugs, implement hot fixes, and resolve software issues.
  • Drive Agile development practices and deliver quality software projects on schedule.
  • Plan and prioritize team workload while balancing deadlines and technical quality.
  • Evaluate new development technologies and guide their adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience, including prior experience leading or mentoring developers.
  • Proficiency in .NET and C#, with an emphasis on desktop development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects from design through delivery.
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio, VS Code, Azure DevOps, and Git.
  • Experience with SQL Server or Oracle, including stored procedures, database tuning, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Blazor, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, learn new concepts quickly, and understand the basics of the civil engineering industry.
  • Preferred knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Proven ability to develop, debug, and implement software solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
