Base Salary
$131k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services for autonomous drone delivery, including path planning, real-time fleet management, and dynamic airspace awareness.
- Develop and maintain scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant systems for managing delivery drone fleets.
- Build simulations and testing frameworks to validate path-planning algorithm performance and reliability.
- Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of drone backend systems.
- Introduce development tools and best practices that accelerate drone development and support aviation-regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of industry experience as a software engineer, focused on backend systems, robotics, or autonomous systems.
- Strong experience developing and implementing path-planning algorithms.
- Experience with simulations and testing frameworks for robotics or autonomous systems.
- Experience with Kotlin or C++.
- Experience improving the efficiency, scalability, and stability of distributed systems in real-time operational contexts.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
- Understanding of networking and communication protocols relevant to robotics and IoT, including TCP/IP, UDP, or MQTT.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with aviation regulations and safety standards such as FAA Part 107 is preferred.
- Familiarity with gRPC, Kafka, Redis, Postgres, Cassandra, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, ROS, robotics middleware, geospatial data, or mapping technologies is helpful but not required.
