Responsibilities
- Build reusable geospatial AI building blocks such as embeddings, similarity search, and retrieval components.
- Contribute to production agentic pipelines for detection, validation, and data handling of map and imagery data.
- Prepare and engineer imagery, map, traffic, and sensor data for AI feature engineering.
- Support training, evaluation, and fine-tuning of geospatial foundation models under senior engineers’ architectural direction.
- Document, test, and hand off components to MLOps for production serving.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in ML/AI engineering, with geospatial or imagery experience preferred.
- Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals, including testing, code quality, and version control.
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Practical experience with embeddings, similarity search, or retrieval-based systems.
- Familiarity with foundation-model concepts such as self-supervised learning, fine-tuning, and transfer learning.
- Comfort working with imagery or other high-volume spatial or sensor data.
- Preferred qualifications include multi-sensor imagery, geospatial data formats, distributed training, large-scale data pipelines, and agentic or multi-stage pipeline systems.
- Nice-to-have experience includes LiDAR, drone data processing, TinyML/edge AI, vector databases, or Go, Java, or C++.
