Responsibilities

  • Implement complex firmware and logic-design solutions using highly integrated SoC systems with embedded processors, logic gates, high-speed interfaces, and complex IP.
  • Support firmware architecture, requirements definition, and documentation.
  • Translate high-level system requirements into firmware requirements.
  • Write production-quality C/C++ for data center GPU firmware.
  • Develop strategies to test and verify standalone and integrated firmware functionality.
  • Create modular, reusable firmware IP for current and future designs.
  • Investigate defects, validate fixes, and provide logs and statistics for defect triage.
  • Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, firmware, systems architecture, validation, and board-design teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with hardware, firmware, and test development for embedded systems.
  • Programming and scripting experience with Python, Bash, and C/C++ in Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret board schematics.
  • Familiarity with embedded protocols including I2C, SPI, USB, PCIe, and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with BMC out-of-band management of servers and data center components.
  • Knowledge of BMC protocols including IPMI FRU, MCTP, PLDM, and Redfish.
  • Familiarity with ARM microcontroller architecture and embedded-system build tool suites.
  • Experience with build scripts, make, git, Visual Basic for Applications, version control, and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
  • Strong communication, self-direction, task ownership, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
