Responsibilities
- Manage integration architecture, technical specifications, and interface requirements throughout the service development lifecycle.
- Design and develop system and data integrations between VA source systems and the Appian case management and Business Process Management platform.
- Develop secure connections using REST, SOAP, JDBC, SMTP, CMIS, JMS, Web APIs, and related integration technologies.
- Integrate Appian solutions with microservices, databases, legacy systems, and inbound and outbound file-transfer processes.
- Develop and maintain Appian plug-ins, middleware components, web services, and integrations deployed in AWS GovCloud.
- Create Integration Control Documents, interface specifications, architecture diagrams, interface diagrams, and integration design standards.
- Collaborate with project leads, developers, architects, quality assurance teams, and DevSecOps personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- At least two years of relevant IT experience.
- At least three years of experience with Appian application delivery, Appian plug-in development, Business Process Management, enterprise application integration, or service-oriented architecture.
- At least three years of experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP web services, APIs, middleware, microservice integrations, and external-system integrations.
- At least three years of experience with Java, J2EE, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, SQL, and application servers such as JBoss, WebLogic, IIS, or Tomcat.
- Experience implementing AWS integrations using Lambda, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, S3, CloudWatch, EC2, and ECS.
- Experience with GitHub or a comparable source-control platform, DevSecOps, configuration management, Agile delivery, systems analysis, quality assurance, and identity and access management technologies.
- Experience with SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, or LDAP.
- U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a background check are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting when applicable.
- Preferred qualifications include active Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer certification, federal government integration experience, more than three years of Agile delivery experience, and hands-on Java, AWS GovCloud, legacy-system integration, and secure file-transfer experience.
