Responsibilities
- Build and productionize models written in Python or PySpark for Databricks batch jobs and real-time Kafka streams.
- Write and review code, contribute to sprint delivery, and migrate legacy services toward modern event-driven architectures.
- Partner with DevOps and QA on testing, model versioning, safe deployments, rollback plans, and drift monitoring.
- Evaluate algorithms and data feeds including GPS, accelerometer, and Mapbox inputs with the data science team.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and data scientists while translating technical and business priorities.
- Contribute to code and design reviews, continuous improvement, feedback, and healthy team dynamics.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data or engineering.
- Expert Python skills and strong experience with Spark/PySpark, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and AWS.
- Experience with Kafka, real-time event processing, and schema management.
- Working familiarity with Java and Spring Boot for backend services.
- Hands-on MLOps experience with MLflow, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Terraform, and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.
- Strong collaboration, communication, adaptability, and constructive-feedback skills.
- Bilingual French and English communication skills are required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience is required.
