Responsibilities
- Engineer data services for data storage and integration layers.
- Build systems to ingest, transform, and serve scientific data for scientific applications.
- Build a high-velocity, reliable platform for conducting research.
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and ML researchers on project work.
Requirements
- Experience in data engineering and service-oriented architectures.
- Extensive software engineering experience, including software design and architecture.
- Extensive enterprise programming experience writing production code in Python.
- Experience building, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable production systems on GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud computing.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and adapting across domains and areas of the technology stack.
- Demonstrated career progression and a passion for learning.
- MSc in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience managing scientific, experimental wet-lab, life sciences, bioinformatics, computational chemistry, or biomedical research data.
- Preferred: experience building backend web application systems with Django, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, PostgreSQL, and dbt.
- Preferred: experience designing and maintaining relational data models with Python-based interfaces and cloud engineering in compute-heavy environments, preferably on GCP.
