Responsibilities
- Build reliable, scalable backend systems that make the automated laboratory programmable.
- Architect data pipelines and processing infrastructure for large volumes of protein characterization and instrument data.
- Design APIs integrating laboratory instruments, robotics, and scheduling systems.
- Translate molecular biology workflows into software that supports precise experiments with minimal human intervention.
- Collaborate with scientists and automation engineers on laboratory automation and data workflows.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and building production backend systems.
- Experience with data pipelines and processing infrastructure for heterogeneous physical-instrument data.
- Comfort with API design and systems integration.
- Experience with Python and TypeScript backend development and Postgres is relevant to the stack.
- Interest in biology and enthusiasm for applying software to physical-world experiments.
- Ability to work autonomously, use sound engineering judgment, and build maintainable software.
