Base Salary

$153k - $269k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in designing and building GM Commercial Services software.
  • Design and develop high-performance, scalable, reliable, and performant backend services and systems.
  • Identify and solve complex, high-impact problems and drive organization-wide improvements.
  • Lead delivery of high-leverage solutions and help shape system architecture, APIs, products, and customers.
  • Improve engineering practices through exemplary code, documentation, automated tests, and monitoring.
  • Build and launch products for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, design, infrastructure, and operations stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior and experienced engineers in their technical careers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and building large engineering projects, including productionization of highly scalable, reliable, and performant systems.
  • Extensive experience with architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems.
  • Extensive experience with Java, Kotlin, or Python.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with at least one public cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, object-oriented concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong product focus and acumen.
  • Experience with project management and ensuring on-time, high-quality team deliverables.
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with React, modern JavaScript libraries, HTML, and CSS.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills and the ability to work in an agile development environment.
  • Passion for staying current with industry trends and technologies.
