Base Salary
$150k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop C++ infrastructure and models for autonomous aircraft simulation.
- Architect deterministic, high-performance simulation software.
- Lead verification and validation analysis studies for models and model tooling.
- Collaborate with autonomy, embedded, GNC, and test engineering teams to mirror real aircraft behavior and mission scenarios.
- Contribute to platform-agnostic simulation tooling for future development.
- Analyze system performance against test and vendor data to validate stable and fast simulation platforms.
- Train and guide junior engineers in modeling and simulation best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Robotics, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in simulation software development with C++ competency; exceptional candidates with less experience and demonstrated depth may be considered.
- Strong understanding of rigid-body dynamics, kinematics, and dynamic-system physics.
- Experience developing or integrating simulation systems for robotics, aerospace, or other complex dynamic systems.
- Ability to debug complex build and runtime environments.
- Experience with simulation verification and validation.
- Strong communication skills across software, hardware, and systems disciplines.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, modern C++ experience, real-time and deterministic software design, multithreading, synchronization, memory management, DevOps-integrated simulation workflows, hardware- and software-in-the-loop environments, CMake, package management, profiling, software testing tools, Python, autonomous aircraft systems, and an active Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
