Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical vision, architectural roadmap, major architectural decisions, and technical debt strategy.
- Design scalable, secure, extensible, distributed, and cloud-native fintech architectures, including domain boundaries, integration patterns, and API standards.
- Own the architecture of the AI-enabled developer experience, including custom skills, agents, harnesses, and MCP servers.
- Create specifications, architecture decision records, reference implementations, proofs of concept, and design spikes.
- Define guardrails, evaluations, review practices, testing strategies, quality gates, and release criteria for AI-generated code and engineering systems.
- Partner with Product, Engineering Leadership, and SDET teams to align technical solutions with business goals and ensure testability and quality.
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and models for engineering workflows and the product while communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related qualification, or equivalent commercial experience.
- 9+ years of software engineering experience, including experience as a Software Architect or Senior Technical Design Lead.
- Deep expertise in .NET/C# and modern web technologies, with strong knowledge of architectural and design patterns, DDD, and API/integration design.
- Proven experience designing scalable, distributed, cloud-native systems, with Azure preferred.
- Substantial hands-on experience working through AI coding agents and spec-driven workflows and owning architecture, review, and quality.
- Experience shaping how a team uses AI in its engineering process and strong focus on testability and architecture documentation.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Desirable qualifications include experience with custom agent skills, harnesses, MCP servers, evaluations, and AI-code guardrails; advanced Claude or Claude Code proficiency; production LLM integration experience; cloud or AI certification; fintech experience; event-driven architecture and messaging knowledge; CI/CD, DevOps, and Lean software development knowledge; security and compliance awareness; React experience; and familiarity with modern .NET tooling and data platforms.
