Responsibilities
- Develop and own core product capabilities, including modernizing legacy components and adding features.
- Identify technical debt and improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs with standards, versioning, and monitoring instrumentation.
- Write reliable tests, conduct code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Provide architectural and design guidance for small projects and mentor junior engineers through pairing, reviews, and coaching.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with Java and/or Kotlin, including object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Experience building backend services and tools in web application ecosystems.
- Ability to act as a technical lead for projects involving typically up to four developers.
- Strong data modeling skills and significant experience with relational databases and SQL; Hibernate is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, logical reasoning, and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP routing or MPLS is a bonus.
