Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and scale distributed backend systems for real-time bot detection, mitigation, and DDoS defense.
- Drive technical strategy for AI/ML-based threat defense and integrate ML inference pipelines and real-time streaming frameworks into production edge environments.
- Build data pipelines and low-latency feature stores for real-time network enforcement and batch threat intelligence.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party vendor platforms for threat detection and bot challenge capabilities.
- Set technical roadmaps, establish engineering standards, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to define security KPIs, build experimentation frameworks, and measure defense effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in backend software development or platform engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one production language: Go, Python, Java, or C++.
- Strong experience with backend software architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or GCP and containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience in network security, cybersecurity, bot detection, or DDoS mitigation at scale.
- Preferred experience evaluating and integrating third-party vendor solutions for bot challenges and edge threat mitigation.
- Hands-on experience incorporating AI/ML models into production systems and working with real-time streaming frameworks such as Apache Flink or Kafka.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-team software initiatives from inception through delivery.
