Software Engineer

- Develop autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, command-and-control, and decision-support software for autonomous maritime products.
- Own software-enabled solutions deployed to customers and optimize them for end-user value.
- Architect, implement, and evolve reusable software components across multiple product lines.
- Develop software running on and off robotic platforms.
- Develop and iteratively enhance vehicle and mission software, including lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operation.
- Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures.
- Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team and travel to co-locate with end-users or other teams up to 20% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional experience working as a Software Engineer in one or more relevant domains or technologies.
- Systems or application programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, and software design.
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
- Ability to work across the software stack and product lifecycle, from design and implementation through operation and sustainment.
- Ability to learn and grow rapidly toward the standard of Senior Software Engineer.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Preferred experience delivering military mission systems.
- Preferred experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++, Rust, or Go.
- Preferred experience building frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
- Preferred experience implementing and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies.
- Preferred experience supporting embedded robotics software, modeling and simulation, high-assurance safety-critical software, and product delivery through manufacturing, acceptance, deployment, and sustainment.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts.
