Base Salary
$217k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop the team and organization’s long-term technical strategy.
- Refine and maintain large-scale data storage and caching infrastructure.
- Own managed and self-hosted infrastructure for data reads, writes, and storage.
- Build tooling and automation to operate storage infrastructure efficiently.
- Implement features, optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed storage systems.
- Mentor engineers in designing, building, and evangelizing services used across Reddit.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably focused on machine learning storage infrastructure.
- Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
- Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes in distributed storage systems.
- A degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineering, data science, machine learning, and product stakeholders.
- Experience with Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, or Memcached is preferred.
Benefits
- Base salary range of $217,000–$303,900 USD.
- Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and, depending on the position, commission eligibility.
