Responsibilities
- Build robust backend services and APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Own the full development lifecycle for selected roadmap features, including design, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
- Interact with internal users to provide support, gather feedback, and plan platform features.
- Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.
- Write comprehensive automated tests and promote maintainable, high-quality code through Test-Driven Development.
- Own release processes and contribute to CI/CD adoption.
- Participate in on-call incident response, postmortem analysis, and remediation efforts.
- Build and improve distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and inter-service communication.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using profiling and load-testing tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or other backend engineering frameworks.
- At least 2 years of industry experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including database design and SQL.
- Experience mentoring junior developers.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- At least 1 year of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCI and ownership of the release process.
- Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Preferred exposure to cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred experience implementing and managing RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS.
- Understanding of frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Ability to solve complex problems, drive effective solutions, and support continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in-office at the company headquarters in Downtown Dallas.
