Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the OpenEdge product security architecture, roadmap, requirements, and investment priorities.
  • Serve as the principal security advisor to product management, engineering leadership, and architecture teams.
  • Establish secure software development practices, security quality gates, and OWASP SAMM and secure SDLC maturity initiatives.
  • Lead threat modeling, architecture risk assessments, risk-register management, and security posture reporting.
  • Drive SAST, DAST, SCA, penetration testing, code review, vulnerability remediation, and coordinated vulnerability disclosure processes.
  • Define security requirements and hardening recommendations for OpenEdge Database, PASOE, authentication and authorization services, MCP integrations, DevOps tooling, cloud deployments, and container or Kubernetes platforms.
  • Lead compliance, SBOM, third-party component governance, and software supply chain security initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers, security champions, and architects and present security risks and recommendations to executives.
  • Support product security incident investigations, root-cause analysis, remediation, and response communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, product security, or security architecture.
  • 5+ years leading product security strategy for enterprise software products.
  • Experience securing large-scale commercial software platforms and influencing engineering organizations and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Linux/Unix, Windows Server, databases, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Preferred experience with OpenEdge architecture, ABL, PASOE, OpenEdge Database, SQL, DevOps tooling, and enterprise middleware.
  • Preferred experience implementing AI/ML security controls, securing agentic AI systems, supporting customer security reviews, and handling enterprise compliance requests.
  • Ability to provide strategic technical leadership, communicate with executives, make risk-based decisions, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor others.
