Responsibilities
- Own design authority, delivery accountability, quality gates, defect trends, release readiness, and delivery risk for the SAP Returns Management process area.
- Configure advanced returns management in SAP S/4HANA, including returns order types, inspection codes, follow-up activity determination, and refund determination.
- Design returns delivery, goods receipt, stock types, movement types, and blocked, quality-inspection, and scrap dispositions with warehouse and inventory teams.
- Configure refund and credit memo determination aligned with physical disposition and commercial policy.
- Own returns reason-code design and reporting for returns analytics.
- Manage dependencies across SD, MM, FI, Inventory Management, EWM, Billing, Procurement, and QM.
- Lead recovery of delayed or quality-pressured workstreams by establishing evidence, replanning, reallocating resources, removing structural causes, and reporting progress to programme leadership.
- Define AI-enabled delivery standards, govern accelerator libraries and SAP Joule for Consultants usage, and set validation, grounding, confidentiality, IP, and agent acceptance controls.
- Mentor Managers and senior engineers through design reviews, pairing, configuration coaching, and codified reusable patterns.
- Represent the process area in client leadership and programme governance forums and defend design and delivery decisions under commercial pressure.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience on the primary skill, specifically SAP Sales and Distribution and Returns Management.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Recognized design authority in SAP S/4HANA Advanced Returns Management, returns document flow, and copy control.
- Comprehensive command of stock types, movement types, and returned-goods disposition handling.
- Extensive experience configuring refund and credit determination rules aligned to commercial policy.
- Ability to diagnose issues across SD, MM, and FI rather than stopping at a module boundary.
- Current hands-on configuration or design-level build experience on the primary skill within the last 24 months; advisory, pre-sales, governance, or oversight-only experience does not satisfy this requirement.
- Demonstrated development of Managers and senior engineers through design review, pairing, and codified patterns.
- Demonstrated definition of AI standards across an SAP delivery team or tower, including validation controls, accelerator ownership, and measured productivity outcomes.
- Working experience with SAP Joule for Consultants or equivalent experience setting AI tooling standards, with working proficiency in SAP Joule expected within 90 days if needed.
- Demonstrated measurable delivery productivity improvements through AI assistants, accelerators, reference architectures, or reusable playbooks.
- Leadership across multiple SAP workstreams, including recovery of at least one delayed or quality-pressured engagement.
- Credible executive and client stakeholder management under incomplete information and commercial pressure.
- Preferred experience with return-to-supplier scenarios in MM, QM integration, reverse logistics in EWM, and direct-to-consumer or omnichannel returns.
