Responsibilities
- Conduct machine learning modeling experiments and prototyping for simulator evaluation tools.
- Write code within Waymo’s simulator and evaluation systems.
- Design statistical experiments to evaluate the efficacy of machine learning discriminators.
- Collaborate across organizations with onboard teams and safety and simulation technology launch stakeholders.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in a master’s or PhD program in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, robotics, or a related technical field.
- Have proficiency in software development using C++ or Python.
- Have a foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, machine learning, and statistics.
- Have knowledge of software systems, including distributed systems and accelerated computing.
- Show interest in autonomous driving, simulation, evaluation, and physical AI.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge or experience with physical systems, physics, robotics, physical AI, and SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are preferred.
