Base Salary
$220k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and operation of the voice stack from concept through reliable production.
- Build and improve fax, email, and SMS pipelines, including routing inbound messages to the appropriate case.
- Translate ambiguous product requirements into practical technical designs and well-scoped solutions.
- Guide one or two engineers through direction, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering practices.
- Use AI coding agents and custom tooling to plan, build, review, and ship software.
- Own production quality through monitoring, on-call, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development and shipping of user-facing products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Full-stack engineering capability with strong backend depth and experience building distributed systems across multiple servers.
- Hands-on experience building AI-agent or LLM applications from design through production.
- Day-to-day fluency with AI coding agents, including planning, reviewing generated output, and creating custom tooling.
- Strong system design, testing, code review, product judgment, communication, and autonomous execution skills.
- Experience guiding and mentoring engineers while remaining a strong individual contributor.
- Preferred qualifications include voice or telephony, messaging pipelines or routing/classification, startup growth, and production ownership with on-call.
