Responsibilities
- Contribute to the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, validation, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Develop software for quantum processor calibration, hardware interfaces, operation infrastructure, system testing, and monitoring.
- Improve software reliability, usability, maintainability, test coverage, documentation, and code architecture.
- Maintain, extend, and optimize custom software tools supporting laboratory operations and interaction between quantum hardware and software systems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting the availability and performance of QPU solvers on the Leap cloud platform.
- Collaborate with programmers, engineers, scientists, and physicists in interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering physics, electrical or computer engineering, physics, or computer science, with a strong aptitude for physics and hardware experience.
- At least two years of relevant software experience.
- Proficiency implementing hardware interfaces.
- Experience with Git workflows including branching, merging, and pull requests.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Strong collaboration, critical-thinking, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity, flexibility, passion for learning, and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Bonus: familiarity with quantum computing concepts and quantum processor operational environments.
- Bonus: experience with compiled languages and multithreaded environments.
- Bonus: experience with Common Lisp, Scheme, Clojure, or Scala.
- Bonus: experience with Emacs, Docker, Jenkins, SQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB, Grafana, or Redis.
- Bonus: experience using AI-assisted development tools or building AI-powered solutions for engineering productivity and workflow automation.
