Base Salary
$121k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve backend architecture for an enterprise-scale digital platform.
- Design and build high-performance Java backend services and APIs for authentication, authorization, content routing, and data integration.
- Implement security-first backend practices, including single sign-on, centralized access control, and alignment with cyber defense standards.
- Optimize performance through caching, asynchronous processing, and efficient data access patterns.
- Architect secure HTTPS-based integrations with content provider applications.
- Lead technical decisions with product management, frontend engineers, architects, and infrastructure teams.
- Mentor senior engineers through code reviews and hands-on technical guidance.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for production incidents, leading root-cause analysis and resolution.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of backend software development experience architecting and delivering large-scale enterprise platforms.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java and associated frameworks for production services.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and RESTful API design.
- Hands-on experience with identity and access management, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and fine-grained authorization models.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS in cloud-native development.
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required; master’s degree preferred.
- Familiarity with Unix environments, Oracle databases, and distributed caching solutions is beneficial.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into backend services or workflows is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of ReactJS, Content Security Policy, corporate design systems, and accessibility standards is beneficial.
