Responsibilities
- Lead architecture design excellence and enforce architectural standards, patterns, decision-making rigor, and regulatory alignment across Canadian financial services engagements.
- Review architecture designs, technical trade-offs, architecture decision records, implementation plans, code paths, APIs, schemas, data models, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Lead design workshops, technology evaluations, proof-of-concepts, vendor technical assessments, and architecture compliance reviews.
- Design and validate cloud, data, AI/ML, integration, security, disaster recovery, and regulatory-compliance architectures for financial services clients.
- Develop reusable architecture frameworks, reference architectures, components, accelerators, and internal intellectual property.
- Prototype emerging technologies and contribute code to internal tools, frameworks, demonstrations, and architecture validation tools.
- Mentor 5–8 delivery architects and consultants through design reviews, pair programming, technical deep dives, and one-on-one coaching.
- Participate in technical interviews, support hiring and advancement, and lead global architecture communities of practice.
- Manage technical, regulatory, quality, and delivery risks; support OSFI examination preparation and post-engagement reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 15+ years of enterprise architecture and technology leadership experience, including at least 10 years at a senior architecture level.
- 10+ years of financial services experience across areas such as banking, capital markets, payments, or wealth management.
- 8+ years of consulting experience delivering complex engagements to C-suite clients.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering transformational initiatives for Tier-1 financial institutions, including modernization, cloud transformation, and regulatory-compliance architecture.
- Deep experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, modern architecture patterns, enterprise-scale systems, data platforms, APIs and integration, security, identity, encryption, and compliance.
- Experience designing responsible AI, model-risk-management, bias-detection, explainability, data governance, real-time streaming, and financial-services regulatory frameworks.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications; TOGAF 9; Certified Kubernetes Administrator; open-source contributions; published technical content; production ML experience; emerging-technology research; and conference speaking experience.
