Responsibilities
- Own the execution engine, including runtime, scheduling, and sub-agent parallelization.
- Build checkpointing, resumption, and recovery for long-running work.
- Shape the execution model for scheduling and queuing of tasks.
- Engineer for scale and reliability, maintaining strict health targets.
- Ensure the engine is open to new agent harnesses and orchestration frameworks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend systems in production.
- Hands-on experience with durable execution or workflow orchestration tools.
- Strong understanding of concurrency, queueing, retries, and fault tolerance.
- Proficient in Python and modern backend frameworks like FastAPI.
- Familiarity with database fundamentals, particularly Postgres.
