Responsibilities
- Support and administer enterprise database platforms across a global production environment.
- Partner with application, data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient database and data platform solutions.
- Monitor database and data platform health, performance, capacity, availability, and operational stability.
- Investigate and resolve database and data platform incidents.
- Assist with platform provisioning, lifecycle management, patching, maintenance, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Build, support, and maintain data pipelines and data lake technologies.
- Develop scripts, workflows, and tools to automate operational processes and reduce manual effort.
- Support database, cloud, analytics, and AI platform technologies.
- Collaborate with teams across global locations to deliver reliable and secure data services.
- Participate in operational support and, with increasing experience, an on-call rotation and occasional planned weekend maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Exposure to database and data platform technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, Dremio, or Apache Spark.
- Experience developing software, scripts, or automation through academic, internship, personal, or professional projects.
- Familiarity with Python or another programming language.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, debugging techniques, and algorithmic problem-solving.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, generative AI, or AI-assisted development tools is desirable.
