Senior Engineer (Core Web)
CoStar GroupResponsibilities
- Build high-quality, scalable, reliable web software and contribute to continuous engineering improvement.
- Lead development of complex frontend features using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Optimize web performance using Core Web Vitals, including LCP, INP, CLS, and TTFB.
- Improve platform health, stability, maintainability, and performance while addressing technical debt.
- Influence engineering standards and collaborate across broader technical communities.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and support operational excellence.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Product Managers and Designers on customer-focused outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong expertise in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Experience building scalable, high-traffic web applications using modern architectural patterns.
- Experience with GraphQL, AWS, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Proficiency designing and delivering high-quality software in Agile development environments.
- Experience collaborating across Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with modern application security practices and OWASP is preferred.
- Deep understanding of web performance optimization and Core Web Vitals, including INP, LCP, CLS, and TTFB.
