Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain login, registration, and account-security applications across web and mobile clients.
- Build Binance’s in-house AI facial recognition product, including KYC verification, liveness detection, and face matching.
- Develop authentication capabilities including passkeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn, authenticator apps, security keys, SMS and email verification, and biometric flows.
- Own MFA orchestration, verification strategy, step-up logic, user customization, and measurable security-versus-completion outcomes.
- Integrate facial recognition and other AI model capabilities with the AI algorithm team through high-concurrency, low-latency inference services.
- Maintain shared security libraries and authentication SDKs, including bundle size, initialization behavior, compatibility, versioning, and rollout concerns.
- Develop the Node.js server-side layer, including server-side rendering, authentication guards, session validation, routing, and performance.
- Build the BFF layer to aggregate upstream security services and translate errors into actionable frontend results.
- Support web, mini program, in-app webview, and low-end-device experiences with clean separation of shared and platform-specific code.
- Drive unit and end-to-end testing, instrumentation, observability, build quality, and local development improvements.
- Analyze login and verification funnel and event data to identify drop-off and optimize user flows.
- Collaborate with product, design, risk, customer support, backend, iOS, and Android teams while independently owning a security sub-domain.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3–8 years of frontend or full stack engineering experience building consumer-facing products from zero to one or evolving them over time.
- Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, browser rendering, networking, caching, and performance-optimization fundamentals.
- Deep proficiency in React 18+ and TypeScript, including state management, data-fetching patterns, and complex multi-step flow orchestration.
- Production Node.js experience with server-side rendering or isomorphic applications, BFF layering, API aggregation and caching, and server-side debugging.
- Ability to model complex, branched, stateful, interruptible, and resumable authentication and verification flows as reusable, testable abstractions.
- Solid engineering practices covering modular architecture, component design, unit and end-to-end testing, CI/CD, shared-library versioning, staged rollout, and rollback.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for production, compatibility, and performance issues.
- Fluency in Mandarin and effective English communication across distributed, cross-timezone teams.
- Experience with identity and authentication technologies such as WebAuthn, FIDO2, passkeys, TOTP, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, risk engines, or device fingerprinting is preferred.
- Experience with AI or computer-vision products, identity verification, KYC, vendor replacement, model inference, RAG, AI agents, or computer-vision integration is preferred.
- Cross-platform, shared-library or SDK, internationalization, finance or payments, monitoring, rollout, experimentation, Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipeline experience is preferred.
