Responsibilities
- Design, develop, customise, and maintain enterprise applications on the Calypso trading and clearing platform using Java.
- Deliver new features, enhancements, integrations, REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions.
- Provide BAU support through incident investigation, root cause analysis, debugging, performance tuning, and defect remediation.
- Build and support integrations with upstream and downstream platforms, databases, and messaging systems.
- Participate in application design, code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to platform performance, scalability, reliability, security, governance, and operational standards.
- Support release management, deployment, regression testing, production rollouts, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
- Collaborate with QA teams to improve automation coverage and software quality.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and work closely with business, product, operations, QA, and DevOps teams.
Requirements
- 6–8+ years of hands-on Java development experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong Core Java expertise, including Collections, Concurrency, Multithreading, JVM Internals, and JDBC.
- Experience building and supporting distributed systems, RESTful APIs, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and related Java ecosystem technologies.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server, including advanced SQL development.
- Experience with Kafka, JMS, or similar messaging and event-driven technologies.
- Proficiency with Git-based source control and CI/CD tools including GitLab, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift containerisation and orchestration technologies.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments and with scripting.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance-tuning, software engineering, design pattern, and secure coding skills.
- Experience delivering solutions in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes capital markets, trading, clearing, risk, post-trade, AWS, Ansible, Terraform, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, performance testing, non-functional testing, real-time processing, ITIL processes, highly available enterprise platforms, and DevSecOps.
