Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and accessibility-first user interfaces.
- Deliver AI-native features across front-end and back-end capabilities for carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability planning.
- Evolve the platform into modular, event-driven, API-first components and make architectural trade-offs focused on scalability, maintainability, performance, and product impact.
- Own application reliability and operational excellence, including telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous service improvement.
- Champion application-level DevOps practices including CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and operations.
- Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, and raise the technical bar across the team.
- Own code quality, documentation, automated testing, performance, security, maintainability, and production readiness.
- Partner with Product Management, Design, AI, Platform Engineering, and other engineering teams on discovery, technical decisions, and delivery.
- Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve platform architecture and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack software engineering experience across front-end and back-end development.
- Solid experience with modern front-end technologies, particularly React or similar frameworks.
- Strong back-end engineering experience, ideally with GoLang or comparable general-purpose programming languages.
- Experience designing and building scalable APIs, services, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, automation, and incident response.
- Experience delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software.
- Strong focus on code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability.
- Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions.
- Effective collaboration and communication across Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams.
- Ownership of engineering outcomes from design through production.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; event-driven architectures, distributed systems, or microservices; and relational databases such as PostgreSQL is desirable.
- Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering standards is desirable.
- Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive, sustainability, carbon intelligence, ESG reporting, or enterprise SaaS products is desirable.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as GHG Protocol, CSRD, or SBTi and with observability, reliability engineering, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management is desirable.
