Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and optimize the end-to-end video pipeline for AEOSx Digital Surgery products.
- Serve as the technical authority for real-time imaging, video acquisition, image processing, rendering, and display systems.
- Develop advanced imaging capabilities including fluorescence-guided surgery, multimodal visualization, image enhancement, and perioperative imaging integration.
- Architect software frameworks for camera systems, image signal processing, calibration, synchronization, and real-time video workflows.
- Develop high-performance multithreaded C++ software and CUDA-accelerated algorithms.
- Design and optimize real-time graphics and visualization pipelines using OpenGL, OpenCV, GStreamer, FFmpeg, and video codecs.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams on requirements, interfaces, and technology roadmaps.
- Establish and optimize benchmarks for latency, throughput, image quality, and system reliability.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Support software verification, validation, and regulatory compliance for medical imaging systems.
Requirements
- 12+ years of related hardware/software/systems experience with a bachelor’s degree, 10 years with a master’s degree, 8 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience delivering GPU-based imaging systems.
- Experience with C++, CUDA, object-oriented design, and programming.
- Experience developing regulated medical-device software in accordance with IEC 62304, FDA Design Controls, ISO 13485, and related standards.
- Experience with version-control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Working knowledge of Scrum or other Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with standard programming concepts, best practices, and procedures.
