Base Salary
$131k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and gateware for quantum RF systems and subsystems.
- Contribute to control system architectures for future quantum sensors.
- Integrate, verify, validate, and debug subsystems within quantum systems.
- Develop programmable logic and low-level CPU interfaces for sensors, magnetic field controllers, lasers, and other peripherals.
- Create test scripts and use CI pipelines and hardware test beds to validate designs.
- Support board bring-up and debugging and provide feedback to design teams.
- Work with electrical, mechanical, software, and physics teams on system integration.
- Improve system usability and reliability for applications and demonstration teams.
- Operate and interface with electrical and optical laboratory test equipment.
- Define architecture and drivers with Rust firmware engineers.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in embedded systems, FPGA development, or mixed-signal design.
- Familiarity with embedded system development in Rust or FPGA development in HDL, with proficiency in both preferred.
- Relevant C or C++ expertise may be considered for candidates interested in developing with Rust.
- Experience interfacing with hardware using SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, or similar interfaces.
- Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Preferred experience includes RF systems, signal generation, data acquisition hardware, control systems, feedback loops, FPGA-based systems, test or automation frameworks, scientific instrumentation, R&D environments, and hardware design or schematic capture.
