Base Salary
$146k - $191k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain flight software for a growing satellite constellation.
- Collaborate with electrical, FPGA, and ground software engineers to integrate hardware and software.
- Lead code reviews and mentor teammates through high-standard technical feedback.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests for software robustness and reliability.
- Develop software documentation and provide cross-training to team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including during live on-orbit operations.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through deployment.
- Support integration and operations teams with software-related questions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of relevant, hands-on engineering experience.
- Ability to support designs through schematic review, architecture, implementation, integration, and testing.
- Experience with real-time embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and low-level drivers.
- Hands-on experience developing, testing, and debugging hard real-time software using bare-metal systems or an RTOS.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux, Linux kernel modules, and standard Linux tools.
- Strong knowledge of compiled languages such as C and C++ and scripted languages such as Python and shell script.
- Experience developing software for microcontrollers and embedded systems such as Xilinx Zynq SoCs.
- Familiarity with software configuration management.
- Hands-on experience using lab equipment and electronics hardware such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
